Frequently asked Revenue Cloud implementation questions
What’s the difference between Salesforce CPQ and Revenue Cloud?
Salesforce CPQ was a legacy, standalone product with some limitations impacting scalability. Salesforce has now replaced it with Revenue Cloud Advanced (RCA), a modern, unified platform built natively on Salesforce that combines CPQ, Order Management, and Billing. RCA supports complex sales models like subscriptions and usage-based pricing while improving efficiency and future-proofing revenue operations.
What if we already have Salesforce CPQ implemented?
Since Salesforce has ended sales of legacy CPQ, businesses are encouraged to transition to Revenue Cloud Advanced (RCA). We can assess your current setup and help you plan a smooth migration to RCA, unlocking greater automation, flexibility, and scalability, while supporting your current CPQ solution.
Do we need both Sales Cloud and Revenue Cloud?
Sales Cloud manages sales pipelines, forecasting, and basic quoting functionality. Revenue Cloud/RCA handles quoting, billing, subscriptions, and revenue recognition for all of your products and revenue models. They work best together, but Revenue Cloud can also operate independently based on your business needs. Engaging with a partner that understands your priorities and needs on why you need to enhance your quoting process with a CPQ versus Sales Cloud is critical for your Rev Ops organization.
Can Revenue Cloud integrate with our ERP or accounting system?
Yes. Revenue Cloud integrates with ERPs and financial systems (such as NetSuite, Sage, and SAP) to synchronize billing, invoicing, payments, and revenue data, ensuring accurate and real-time revenue operations.
